Welcome to the official site of Gujarati Society of British Columbia (GSBC) — a cultural, charitable, and educational non-profit organization based in British Columbia. This society is one of the largest cultural organizations in the Lower Mainland, with thousands of Gujarati-speaking members and supporters. The framework of the society was set in 1967 and it has since grown to be one of the most active Indian organizations in Canada, holding many exciting cultural and recreational events that bring uncountable Gujaratis together from all over.
The purpose of the GSBC is to:
– Maintain, enhance, understand, and appreciate Gujarati culture and language
– Preserve Gujarati heritage by celebrating various Gujarati holidays
– Encourage friendship amongst members with entertainment and sporting events
– Educate youths about Gujarati customs
To promote these goals, the society holds many events, including Diwali, Navratri, festival celebrations, picnics, bhajans and others throughout the years. We hope to keep you regularly informed with all of the necessary information to enable you to play an active role in the community.
